George has an extensive background in investment management and financial planning and earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation in 1992. He also is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Chartered Life Underwriter, the highest designation in the insurance profession.

George purchased and restructured Temenos Advisory, formerly VSG Financial Services, in 1998. Previously, he was the investment specialist for New England Securities and a senior vice president in charge of investments for The Robinson Company, a Connecticut-based employee benefits and pension consulting firm. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science in 1982 from the University of Pennsylvania.

For the better part of his career, George has pursued out-of-the-box thinking in the areas of financial planning and work environments. He is recognized as a national expert in Virtual Office Structure, using modern computer and communications technologies to allow geographically dispersed employees to work collaboratively and effectively. He is interested in the sociological relationships between work, leisure, and personal finances.

There is much new research and thought in this area, which George uses to bring fresh perspective and insight to financial planning. He is a frequent writer and speaker on financial issues, and he has made presentations at numerous conferences, including the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the Financial Planning Association, and the T3 Technology Conference, the only technology and practice management conference for financial advisors.

George is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, and currently serves on the FPA Special Interest Committee. He previously served on the IAFP/FPA (International Association of Financial Planners/Financial Planning Association) Practitioner Advisor Council and the FPA’s national government relations committee. He also is a past president of the Fairfield, Connecticut, chapter of FPA and the Northwest Connecticut Association of Life Underwriters, which under his tenure was recognized for outstanding performance and overall excellence for association management.
